B.O.P.A.E. is a community event hosted by Enterprise Oil in collaboration with JTEKT, Tuff Torq and other local businesses that encourages recycling and education on environmental sustainability issues. Not only is it free to the community and volunteer staffed, but it is a zero-landfill event which means all waste is recycled or disposed of in more sustainable and eco-friendly ways. Aside from batteries, motor oil, paint, antifreeze and electronics, we are able to take other household items such as paper, cardboard, light bulbs, small appliances, phones and TV’s.
In 2017 we held the 5th Annual B.O.P.A.E. Event and with over 200 community members participating, doubled the tonnage of recyclable goods from the previous year. The involvement of Keep America Beautiful, Keep Morristown Hamblen Beautiful and Sevier County Solid Waste brought a new educational aspect to B.O.P.A.E. and a mobile classroom.
